Cold Brew Iced Coffee
Coffee is one of the simple pleasures that I look forward to every morning. I love the smell of it and obviously the taste is wonderful. I am trying to cut back on my expenditures and budget (retirement kids!!), so I have been making my own cold brew at home. It is really easy, it just takes time and some good ground up coffee.
Ingredients
Medium to fine grind coffee beans - best if organic
Filtered water
Bag for filtering coffee grounds
Get a large glass jar or pitcher and put 2 cups of the coffee grounds into the jar, fill up jar with filtered water. I like to stir the cold brew with a chopstick a couple of times throughout the day so it brews more efficiently. Keep in the fridge and use the coffee bag to strain out cold brew over a large bowl. I like for my cold brew to steep for at least 48 hours, I have made a cold brew at 24 hours and it just wasn’t good to me. You can dispose of the coffee grounds in the trash or compost or you could make a homemade body scrub.
The cold brew is easy to make and so much more cost effective than buying from your local cafe, give it a try!
